Dr. Linda Xie
Dr. Linda Xie received her Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) and Doctor of Dental Surgery (D.D.S.) from University of Alberta in 1994 and 1996.
Since then she has been practicing dentistry in private offices.
As a true scholar, her education did not stop after her graduation.
In 1998, Dr Xie completed Level 1 of the advanced dental education at the prestigious Pankey's Institute(http://www.pankey.org).
She subsequently completed Level 2 in 1999, level 2E in 2000, Level 3 in 2002, and Level 4 in 2003.
Knowing the fundamentals of occlusion and TMJ function, Dr. Xie continued with the more advanced Interdisciplinary training which not only involved function, but also treated dental aesthetics.
These Interdisciplinary Levels were completed in 2005, 2006, and 2007. In addition, Dr. Xie attended the Master's Forum in 2006. Dr Xie became a member of the Class One Triple Plus Club at the Pankey Institute in 2008.
Dr Xie is also very experienced in treating patients using Waterlase M.D., which is a dental laser that treats both hard and soft tissues with minimal invasion.
Other updated technology include Vizilite and Velscope oral cancer screening tests that can detect oral cancerous lesion even in Stage I, and a smile makeover with minimal or without reduction of sensitive tooth structure by Lumineers ( http://www.lumineers).
Dr Xie is also certified to provide oral sedation for adults since November 2009 and paediatric sedation since February 2010.
Her most recent credential will be received for completion of Periodontal Mechanical and Instrumentation surgery, oral plastic surgery and advanced implant surgery in May 2010 from the University of Michigan.
Beside her busy working schedule, Dr Xie enjoys Pilates, ballroom dancing and figure skating. Her husband Louie and their two sons, Eric and Aaron are all very much involved in competitive figure skating.
Their good friends, Hongbo and Shen Xue have just won an Olympic Gold Medal in 2010 Winter Olympics in pairs skating for China. It was such a great pleasure for Dr Xie's family to be there to cheer for them.
